On this page you will learn a lot about Pleasant Heights P.S Multi-Purpose areas. The three areas that we have are the Multi-Purpose court, Basketball area which includes a netball ring, two
basketball rings and handball squares which are shared among years 5 & 6. We also have another area called the Top Quadrangle. The information on the first two of these three areas will be found
in the next paragraphs.
Multi-Purpose Court
The Multi-Purpose court is very popular for children to go and play on. It has a concrete surface which is yellow with painted lines marked on the court for the following sports:
basketball, netball and tennis. It has a wired fence surrounding the court. Some children play cricket there and it is also used for a variety of different fitness activities. There are
only 2 basketball rings and 2 holes for tennis poles. When it rains the Multi-Purpose court looks more like pool and you can't play there. There are a lot of trees around
the court so there is a lot of shade during summer and other hot days. On Tuesday and Friday mornings children from this school attend tennis coaching to improve their skills.
Basketball Area
The Basketball area can be used for handball by Yr. 5 & Yr. 6. It can only be used by Yr. 5 & Yr. 6 before school, morning tea and lunch times. It can also be used for sport, fitness and a lunch area
for when it has been raining and the usual area is damp and moist. The basketball area features two undersize basketball rings and one netball ring. It is surrounded by a wire mesh fence which keeps
balls and other equipment in the area. Sometimes it is used for fund-raising like parades, school fetes and other special events
