Pleasant Heights Public School has many resource rooms, such as the TV Room and the Staff Room.
TV Room
The TV Room is used by all classes as a facility. For example every Tuesday Years 5&6 get together to watch an ABC program called Behind the News (BTN) . The TV Room is used to store facilities such as;
- Space: The TV Room holds equipment for the
children to use and to learn about what the
universe holds and what it looks likes.
- Safety: Also the TV Room has safety equipment so that the students at this school know how to cross the road, read signs and other safety rules.
- Maps & Globes: There are also maps and globes so that students can learn more about our World, Countries, States, and Capital Cities. The children are more familiar with this country that way.
- Measurement: The TV Room mostly holds equipment to measure short and long distances such as rulers and trundle wheels. We also keep in the room scales and jugs. We also keep in the room
things like scales and jugs to measure grams, kilograms, litres and millilitres.
Staff Room
The staff room is used only by teachers and authorized people. The teachers use this resource room as a place to eat and have meetings at lunch and recess time. Some more uses of the staff room are listed below.
- Food for Teachers
: Each morning the teachers are to bring to school some type of food for
lunch. If it is to be kept cold they use the fridge. If it is to be heated up they use the oven or microwave already supplied.
- Meeting Place: Inside the staff room is a large table with padded chairs that the teachers and staff go there to meet and discuss any problems within the school.
- Pigeon Holes: Each teacher has their own personal pigeon hole which they collect notes, classroom activity sheets and urgent messages for the students and staff from the Principal each day.
- Appliances: In the staff room I am sure that we have enough appliances such as a fridge, a microwave, an oven, a stove and a hot water system.
I hope we have told you enough information on our schools resource rooms.
