Using a Draw Program


A Draw program creates images on the screen by using objects instead of pixels. Just like a paint program lines may be any colour, thickness or pattern but all of these can be modified at any time without effecting any other line. These notes refer to ClarisWorks version 4.


The Work Area



The tools are displayed down the left hand side of the page.

 

To find out what each tool does click on the tool bar.

The colour palette is beneath the tools.

Creating a shadow box in a draw program  

Choose the rectangle tool

Draw a box on the screen. (click and drag diagonally)

Select the box using the arrow tool. (So the handles appear)

Choose Copy from the edit menu.

Choose Paste from the Edit menu.

With the second box selected, fill it with black.

With the second box still selected choose Move to the Back from the Arrange menu.

Position the second box slightly offset from the first box. Use the arrow keys to make small, accurate movements.

Select the Letter tool ( A tool)

Change the font, size and position over the box and type text.
