- Open a Drawing document and select
the rectangle tool.
- Draw a square (hold down the Shift
key)

- Select Copy from the Edit menu or use
the keyboard shortcut COMMAND C. Select Paste from the
Edit menu or use the keyboard shortcut COMMAND V. The
second square will sit on top of the first square, hiding
it.
- From the Arrange menu, select Rotate
and type in the degrees to rotate. (eg 45)

- The top square can be moved to the
right using the arrow keys.
- Continue copying, pasting and
rotating to complete a pattern.
- Click on each square and select a
colour from the Fill colour palette to form a pattern

- Different patterns can be completed
using the rotate feature together with the Flip choices
in the Arrange menu.
