From a file on a disk
- Select Show tools from the View menu.
This will open a tool box on the left hand side of the
screen.
- Select the arrow pointer from the
tool bar to make sure the image is treated as a graphic.
- From the File menu select Insert.
Navigate to the folder which contains the graphic needed.
Select the graphic and click Open.
- Text from other files can be Inserted
into your document using the same process but remember to
have the text tool (A) selected in the tool bar.
From the Scrapbook
- Select Scrapbook from the Apple
menu.
- Click on the left or right arrows
along the bottom until graphic needed appears in the
window.
- From the Edit menu, select Copy or
use the keyboard shortcut Command C.
- Close the scrapbook.
- Select Paste from the Edit menu or
use the keyboard shortcut Command V.
From the Internet
- Find an image you want on the
Internet.
- Move the mouse so the pointer is over
the image.
- Click and hold down the mouse
button.
- From the pop-up menu which appears,
select Copy this Image. (If more than one image is to be
collected from the Internet, or if the image is to be
used at a later session, select Save this Image from the
pop-up menu )
- The image is now stored in the
computers clipboard.
- To use the picture, open the document
and select the arrow pointer from the tool bar to make
sure the image is treated as a graphic.
- Select Paste from the Edit menu or
use the keyboard shortcut Command V.
- Click inside the image to move
it.
- Observe all copyright
restrictions.
To move and resize the
graphic
- To change the position of the
graphic, click once inside the graphic to select it. You
will see handles (small squares on each corner)
indicating that it has been selected and is able to be
moved or resized.

- To resize the Graphic click on one of
the handles in a corner and drag to resize. Hold the
Shift key while resizing to retain the same proportions.
- Images can also be resized by
selecting Transform from the Option menu then Scale by
Percent. Type the percentage needed. in both boxes - 50%
will decrease the image by half, 120% will increase the
size of the image.
Using Text Wrap
- If the image is hiding text, select
the image by clicking inside the image then select Text
Wrap from the Option menu.
- You will be given a choice of None,
Regular or Irregular. Click in either Regular or
Irregular and the text will move from under the image.
The image can be moved and the text will still wrap
around the picture.
