- Open Kid Pix and create a series of
pictures for the slide show. Each picture must be saved
and it helps later if the name has a number e.g. Slide 1,
Slide 2 etc.
- Select Return to Kid Pix Studio from
the File menu and select Slide Show. You will see a
screen containing a series of moving vans being driven by
a dog.

- There are 3 symbols under each van.
Click on the first symbol, a frame. Navigate to the
folder containing the slides and select the first slide
(Slide 1) then click Open. A small version of the picture
will appear in the first van. Click on the second van
(the dog will face you) then on the frame symbol. Select
Slide 2. Continue until all slides have been placed in
the vans.
- Click on the second
symbol under the 1st van (the musical note) and select a
sound from those which are provided with the program.
Continue adding sounds to each of the slides.
- Voice and sound effects can be added
to slide shows, by selecting the microphone symbol and
using the built in microphone or by attaching an external
microphone. (Most Macintosh computers have a built in
mike.)

- Click in the Record box and speak the
words or make the sound effect. Click in the Stop box,
then the Save button. Check the result by clicking the
preview button. Either Click on the microphone symbol to
redo the sound or click the Select button if the
recording is correct.

- Click on the third symbol - the
transition - and select an effect which will be displayed
before opening the next slide.
- The slider bar
under the 3 symbols, allows you to change the length of
time each slide appears on the screen. Click on the bar
and hold the mouse button down to see the number of
seconds for each slide. The time for each slide is set to
the length of time for the chosen sound. The length of
time needed for each sound will limit the least amount of
time for each slide.
- Below the moving trucks are 4 buttons
- Undo, Erase, Play and Loop. Try the slide show by
clicking on the Play button.
- A double click will stop the slide
show. Make any alterations needed. Slides can be moved
between trucks by clicking and dragging.
- Save the slide show (ensuring that
all slides and the slide show are kept in the same
folder), either as a standard slide show, a Quicktime
movie or as a stand alone slide show. The stand alone
slide show uses most memory, but can be shown on any Mac
computer, even if Kid Pix is not on the computer.
