Tools Options

Pencil

The Pencil Tool has 6 widths which can be selected from the option bar.

The pencil can be a solid colour or one of the patterns on the options bar.

The transparent option can be selected, to colour an area, without erasing other parts of the picture.

The mystery tool creates a rainbow line.

The arrows at the end of the options allows the user to change the pencil shape between square and round.

Some of the options can be modified by holding down keys while drawing. Keys to try include Command (Apple), Option, Control and Shift.

Straight Line

The Straight Line Tool has 6 widths which can be selected from the option bar.

The line can be a solid colour or one of the patterns on the options bar.

The random pattern option produces - yes - random patterns.

The mystery tool creates a rainbow line.

Rectangle Tool

The Rectangle Tool can be filled with solid colour, white fill with a coloured border or no fill with a coloured border by selecting the first 3 boxes in the option bar.

Rectangles can be filled with a pattern by selecting one of the next 10 boxes on the options bar.

The mystery tool fills the rectangle with a rainbow of colour.

Oval Tool

The Oval Tool options are the same as those for the Rectangle Tool.

Paint Brush

The Paint Brush Tool can be used to draw Wacky lines, which can take the many different forms. The options include cartoon figures and speech bubbles.

Some of the options can be modified by holding down keys while drawing. Keys to try include Command (Apple), Option, Control and Shift. Combining two or more of these keys can produce further modifications.

Fill

The Fill Tool is used to add colour or patterns to enclosed shapes.

Using the up and down arrows on the end of the option bar, shows several rows of patterns to choose.

Mixer

The Mixer Tool is used to create patterns and special effects.

Eraser

The eraser tool has 4 options of varying size and shape which will erase sections of work.

There are 9 options to erase the whole page.

The Mystery eraser will reveal a randomly selected black and white picture.

Text stamp

The Text Stamp Tool can be used to stamp letters, numbers and a few symbols. The letters are uppercase.

Typewriter

The Typewriter Tool can be used to type all letters in upper and lower case and in a variety of fonts which can be chosen from the options.

In Kid Pix Studio Deluxe the Typewriter Tool has additional choices. Any font installed on the computer can be used and font sizes changed up to 72 point. Text can be Bold, Italic and Underlined. Text boxes can be moved and modified

Stamp

The Stamp Tool provides a collection of simple clip art which can be resized by holding down the keys - Option or Shift and both Option and Shift.

Moving Truck

The Moving Truck Tool is used to select sections of work in varying shapes, which can be moved and in some cases deleted.

Eyedropper

The Eyedropper is used to pick up a colour.

Undo

The Undo Tool or Oops Guy will undo the last action.
