- Select the material that you would
like to scan.
- Make sure the scanner is turned on
before the computer. (or turn the scanner on then select
RESTART from the SPECIAL menu on the
computer).
- Open the lid of the scanner and place
the picture to be scanned face down on the glass (top of
the picture towards the hinged end of the lid). Close the
lid.
- Open the Scanning
software.
- To scan an entire picture, click
autoscan and the scanner will go through several
processes (prescan, scan, straighten and
crop).
- If you only want a section of the
"picture", select Prescan. When a rough image appears,
select the section of the image to be scanned using the
select tool. Drag diagonally over the area to be scanned.
(A box will appear around the selected area.)
- Click Scan.
- Save the image in a format that suits
the need of the user. eg pict for Kid Pix, jpeg for web
pages
- Most scanners are simple to use and
operate in a similar manner.
