- Open MicroWorlds and select the
Drawing centre
tool and create a background for the
animation.
- Use the Hatch Turtle tool
to place 5 turtles on the left hand side of the page. Use
the select tool and turn the turtles so they are all
facing the same direction.
- Select the stamp tool
and change the turtles to a shape which is suitable to
animate. Shapes can be flipped by double clicking the
picture of the stamp and selecting the flip button.

- Select the hatch turtle tool, then
click on a picture. This will open the instruction box.
Fill in the instruction box with the number of forward
steps. Discuss the use of the abbreviations which the
turtle understands. Click the Many Times button (to make
the forward movement continue more than 5 turtle
steps).

- Continue selecting the hatch turtle
tool then a picture to complete an instruction box for
each picture.
- Click on each picture to start the
animation.

- Set challenges - Edit the numbers in
the instruction box to make all animations move at a
different speed. Make the largest picture, the fastest
and the smallest, the slowest.etc
