| The Australian Vocational Training System (AVTS) is a new national entry-level training system that started to be implemented in 1995. The system will be gradually introduced to schools, TAFEs and workplaces. It builds on the current traineeship and apprenticeship systems, and is expected to be fully in place by 1998. It provides the opportunity for school students to gain a vocational education qualification under the Australian Qualification Framework or to commence a pathway towards it that they can continue after school. |
