STUDENT OUTCOMES and INDICATORS

Stage 2 - Earth and its Surroundings

General: Identifies some of the features of the Solar System and describes interactions that affect conditions on Earth.

Investigating: Conducts investigations by observing, questioning, predicting, testing, collecting, recording and analysising data, and drawing conclusions.
                   - researches and presents information about planets in the Solar System.

Designing and Making: Develops, implements and evaluates ideas using drawings, models and prototypes at appropriate stages of the design process.
                    - designs and makes a board game about the Solar System, including questions about size, rotation,
                       moons, gases, etc and tests with a target audience.

Using Technology: Selects and uses a range of computer-based technology, materials and other resources with developing skill to enhance investigation and design tasks.
                    - accesses and records information about the planets in the Solar System using the Internet, computer
                      software, videos and/or non-fiction books.
