
Modern times have had great impact on the Chinese diet. Many foods can now be imported which lets the Chinese citizens sample foods from numerous parts of the world. Depending on where you live and what your occupation is, greatly determines your diet.
Chinese food is based on different types of grains. In the Southern regions of China, the favourite grain is rice. In the Northern regions, wheat is preferred which is made into bread and noodles. That is where the differences stop. All over China people eat corn, millet and sorghum. Vegetables are a popularity, especially cabbage and tofu (soybean curd) and these rate second in the Chinese diet. For snacks people like to munch on roasted sweet potatoes. Pork and poultry are the popular types of meat with eggs, fish, fruit and shellfish.
BREAKFAST
This could be rice porridge, chicken-noodle soup or deep-fried pastries which taste like doughnuts.
LUNCH
Chinese favourites are egg rolls, dumplings stuffed with meat or shrimp.
DINNER
Chop suey is popularly known for a food source of China. It was once a common food for dinner but is very uncommon for Chinese people to eat now days. Chinese people prefer to have vegetables with bits of meat or seafood, soup and rice or noodles.
