Chapattis
Preparation time: 90 minutes
Serves 6-8
3 cups plain wholemeal flour
1 cup warm water
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1) Mix salt and flour together, reserving half a cup of flour for rolling out.
2) Add the water to the flour and salt, mix to a soft dough.
3) Knead well for at least 10 minutes.
4) Form into a ball, wrap and leave to stand at room temperature for a least one hour.
5) Divide dough into walnut sized balls and roll out very thinly.
6) Fry each chapatti in a heavy-based frying pan with very little oil, about one minute on
each side.
