A famous archaeologist is Howard Carter,he discovered Tutankhamun’s tomb and we’re going to tell you a bit about it.
Howard Carter found the great tomb of Tutankhamun in the Valley of the Kings,1922. He then wrote a book telling everyone about his great discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
Howard Carter was born in Swaffham, England in the late 1800’s.
When Tutankhamun was discovered, Howard Carter wedged open the black grimy coffin lid.
Once the lid came off, Howard Carter saw the gold mask of Tutankhamun. He fell back due to the overpowering musty smell......
The entire world was astonished by his amazing discovery, although this discovery caused great controversy. Some Egyptians wanted Tutankhamun to stay in his tomb, others thought it would be better to have the body and treasures at the Cairo Museum. After a long time he and his treasures ended up going to the Cairo museum where you can see them today.
