BULLOCKS
In the olden days in Australia they used bullocks to get around . The early settlers built the first road. The first road was used for bullocks. They had to make the tracks wider so they could get around . Towns people went up to15 to 20 kilometres away from home with bullocks . Bullocks had to be put into pairs in teams of up to forty.

SHIPS
The oldest type of transport were the ships. Ships have been around for centuries. The ships that came to Australia went up the coast of Australia. Captain James Cook took the first ship out to Australia.

COACHES
Coaches were the first transport in Australia to take people somewhere. In 1805, a man named William Roberts ran a coach to Parramatta. The coach ran every three weeks and the customers had to pay five shillings. Horses were used to pull the coaches. Horses were ridden around by men in Old Sydney Town. Horses were used a lot.
